Young Filmmakers’ Showcase
The competition gets tougher in 2008 as we add the Young Filmmakers’ Showcase, a separate juried contest for projects by young artists ages 13 to 18. Not only will these YFS entries compete for a $500 showcase award, they will also be eligible for upgrade to the main festival.
Projects selected for the Young Filmmakers’ Showcase are screened on a separate program during the festival weekend. The competition program is juried by its own unique panel of artists, peers and educators.
So attention aspiring filmmakers ages 13 to 18:
Make that film you’ve been bumping around in your head. Get a camera. Get a crew. Get going. There’s a nice cash award and a chance to see your work in one of the country’s most beautiful restored theatres.
