2008 Call for Entries

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2008 24fps International Short Film Festival. The juried competition selects twenty Official Selection Films from the field of entries. These competition films receive public exhibition on two curated programs. The ’08 festival screenings are held the weekend of October 24-25, 2008.

Cash prizes are awarded by the Official Jury in the following categories:

GRAND JURY PRIZE–$1,000
SILVER MEDAL–$600
BRONZE MEDAL–$400
AUDIENCE AWARD–$400
HORIZON AWARD (Most Promising Filmmaker)–$400
YOUNG FILMMAKER SHOWCASE AWARD–$500

The screening theatre is the landmark Paramount Theatre in Abilene, Texas. Built as a movie palace in 1930, the theatre was fully restored and renovated in 1986 as a multi-use facility. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, it is home to the Paramount Film Series, a year-long program of classic, independent, foreign and arthouse films. The theatre is also extensively used for live performances including opera, ballet, musical theatre, and concerts.

There is no entry fee required to submit a film for consideration. Multiple entries are accepted, but a separate signed entry form must accompany each submission.
